One of the biggest event will be planned in London for the 2012 Olympics. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Luxembourg’s Printemps Musical, and they are rolling out with jazz and wold music heavy hitters like Spanish Harlem Orchestra and Roberto Fonseca.

The Beale Street Music Festival has been nominated for a Concert Industry Award for the Music Festival of The Year, and was named by Playboy Magazine as one of the Fun 2000 events - a "must-do list" for the new millennium. The Beale Street Music Festival also hosted media such as VH1, Rolling Stone, MTV, Billboard, Cashbox, Pollstar, National Geographic, the BBC and dozens of other national publications, international television networks and blues publications.
National Cherry Blossom Festival Centennial
The centennial celebrates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from the city of Tokyo to our nation’s capital, and one hundred years of international friendship. Buildings all over the city will be lit up with a rosy glow in commemoration.

The Peak Bloom Date is defined as the day on which 70 percent of the blossoms of the Yoshino cherry trees that surround the Tidal Basin are open. This date varies from year to year, depending on weather conditions. The Blooming Period is defined as that period when 20 percent of the blossoms are open until the petals fall and leaves appear. The blooming period starts several days before the peak bloom date and can last as long as 14 days, however, frost or high temperatures combined with wind or rain can shorten this period.
