While Spring signals the end of the ski season in Breckenridge, Colorado, the fun is just beginning with activities and events in April!

The French Gulch Gold Mine & Dredge Snowshoe Hike takes place on April 8. Take a hike through Breckenridge's fabled Golden Horseshoe, the location of dozens of early mining operations.
Along the way, take in scenic views of ten mile range, hear about the local environment, and see the ruins of mine sites and the gold-gobbling Reiling Dredge boat. This hike is approximately 2.5 miles round-trip with uphill sections and lasts approximately 3 hours. Weather permitting, reservations are required, call 970-453-9767.
On April 9, from 11am to 6pm, at 1925 Airport Road is the Breckenridge Distillery Tour/Tasting. Come watch the owners mash, ferment, and distill their internationally renowned whiskey, vodka and more at their 4,000 square foot distillery. They use traditional open-top Scottish style fermenters and distill in a 700 Gallon Vendome custom copper combination pot still. For more info, call 970-547-9759.

On April 12, enjoy an easy guided hike through the historic Iowa Hill mine site, which takes you past mining artifacts, interpretive signs and up to a restored miners' boardinghouse. Get to the base area at Peak 8 on April 13 and 14 from 2-5pm in April for free concerts, with live bands performing on a specially-constructed stage as part of the Bud Light Weekend Concert Series!
On April 13, one of Colorado’s favorite hometown bands, 3OH!3 is the electropop duo of Sean Foreman and Nathanial Motte, who named the band after the area code of their hometown of Boulder, Colo. Having collaborated with Lil’ John, Katy Perry and Ke$ha, 3OH!3 has racked up an impressive resume.
On April 14, Matisyahu fuses the contemporary styles of rap, beatboxing and hip-hop with the more traditional vocal disciplines of jazz's scat singing and Judaism's hazzan style of songful prayer, rolling it all into a dominant background of reggae. His hit single “King Without a Crown” launched him to stardom and was a Top 40 hit. He has been named Top Reggae Artist by Billboard and continues to produce inspirational hits that also contain deep meaning.
