Comment by Salogi Tuscany Villas on March 7, 2012 at 10:40 Cooking tradition is certainly stronger in Italy than in other Countries. In Tuscany, in particular, the culinary knowledge is often a family heritage and probably for this reason the best receipts are the simplest ones. But simple doesn’t mean easy. There is a real passion in finding the right ingredients, in creating home-made dishes, in adding a few secrets which will make the taste a unique experience. Spending a day learning to cook from a Tuscan chef means getting in the real soul of the Tuscan living. Tasting what you have prepared together with the chef in a Tuscan Villa will remain forever an unforgettable memory.

In Thailand, the majority of the people have an obsession with good food. You will find all kinds of restaurants, from the most humble roadside stall focusing on one dish or specialty, to internationally acclaimed eateries. Class is no barrier: if you see a pavement stall crowded with smiling patrons, you will notice the variety of ways people arrive there - some on foot, some on bicycle, some by tuk-tuk or taxi, and some by chauffeured limousines. We don't allow fancy settings to detract from what is always the star: a brilliantly executed dish!
Our holiday villas include the private Thai pool villa for rent, Gecko Villa, the traditional Thai villa and pool Green Gecko, as well as the colonially styled private pool vacation rental Rice Paddy Villa. At each, vacations are fully catered with freshly prepared Thai meals made for guests at their villa by a local Thai family - as we believe visitors are keen to discover authentic Thai and Isan dishes.
We grow our own organic herbs, spices and vegetables, as well as our own rice - both jasmine and sticky varieties. For those who want to laze by the pool, this means they are not tied to the kitchen, whilst for the foodies amongst us we are keen to share tips and recipes for indigenous specialties, with wet market trips and cooking demonstrations. We will take you into the gardens to pick, for example, your own lemongrass, chilies, pea eggplants, galangal or Thai basil, and then head to the wok-powered kitchen to get to work with a large pestle and mortar... releasing aromas that can only inspire!
For some recipes, do take a look at our Thai travel and food blog. A good place to start is with our spicy dipping sauce for grilled meats. Do try it - we think this recipe epitomizes how a really very simple concoction can be so surprisingly symphonic!
