Dana Point, Califoria or Majorca, Spain
Nice Choice!! However for me, it would certainly be one of The Canary Islands..With year round, wall to wall
Sunshine. Wonderful Beaches, Every possible Activity right on your door-step..A friendly native population.
The Spanish, have a laid back approach to life!! To-morrow..is soon enough..lol
For something a bit adventurous, I'd recommend rafting down the Rogue River in Oregon and then taking a driving tour to crater lake, the three sister volcano area (great ski resort with summer chair lift rides), Bend, Mt. Hood, wine country in Willamette Valley and then down the coast to your starting point. Echo rafting company has an unbelievable service with fantastic food, interesting and knowledgeable guides, etc. I'd recommend doing one night camping out and one night in the back country lodge (half-moon something-I think).
I have never spent much time in Oregon. That is a great idea.

British Virgin Islands - on a catamaran - your own space at your on pace.
Best time to go? - November - less crowded!
Great food - great people - sail to at different island each night - go ashore have dinner
Drink "Pain Killers" at the Soggy Dollar - limit yourself to one - dine there - food is fabulous
